The Fox Censor was a character in "Treehouse of Horror VIII".
Description[]
This unnamed man edited the script to the episode (including one line he actually laughed at and another about a crack pipe). He then introduced the episode as being rated TV-G, which means that it will have no raunchy NBC-style sex or senseless CBS-style violence.
As the FOX censor talks, the rating icon stabs him with a cutlass (originally, a dagger, but the real-life FOX censors objected) repeatedly, worsening the rating each time, from TV-G to TV-PG, then TV-14, then TV-MA, then TV-21, and finally TV-666 (the number of the Devil). He finally dies as his blood spells out the episode's title.
Trivia[]
- TV-21 is not a real rating on the American TV system (neither is TV-666, but that is fairly obvious). MA is as high as it goes, although only for cable and other pay-TV programs. For a program that would be on standard broadcast television (like The Simpsons itself), then TV-14 would be the highest allowed rating.
