Synopsis[]

Homer Simpson publicly disparages a pop singer and faces the ire of her vindictive and highly organized fan army.

Plot[]

Homer and Bart are at a baseball game at the Isotope Stadium; however, they notice that the upper deck is crowded with a lot of girls. Then when the game starts a famous Pop singer Ashlee Starling comes on playing her popular single song Glitter, then all the girls in the stadium cheer in excitement, much to Homer's displeasure, Bart quietly tells Homer that Starling is a "whiny pop singer for whiny girls who love to whine", then the whole stadium had a well-planned event where all the girls put up their signs. Homer and Bart leave.

Next to the concessions stand they discover that all the hot dogs are sold out, further disappointing them. Kent Brockman arrives and ask's Homer since when did he be a fan of Ashlee Starling, Homer replies never and repeats what Bart told him, when the camera goes to Bart, he tells something different, saying that "Ashlee Starlings's well-crafted songs speak to the inner lives of teens and tweens alike" Homer then tries to remind Bart that Bart was the one who told him, Bart then says he never met Homer, and if he did then he would tell Homer to like Ashlee’s songs, after that Homer and Bart head away to a place where the coast is clear where Bart tells Homer that he had insulted Ashlee Starling on live camera and is not going to go well for him and calls Homer a dead man.

The next day Homer is driving when his car's radio starts to play "Glitter". Homer tries to change the radio channel it stays the same, and then suddenly a doll of Ashlee Starling falls from the sky, in shock he wears of the road and crashes the car, then the airbag pops up and glitter comes out of it, he wanders into the forest where he see's sight of a hooded figure hiding behind a tree and disappears, girls laughing sounds are then heard. At the nuclear plant a seed cake is on his chair at his workstation, when suddenly a flock of starlings (like the singer's last name) come out of the vents and circle Homer, one leaves behind a letter telling him that they are the "Murmur Nation". Lenny and Carl show up and tell Homer that Ashlee Starling's "highly organized" fan army is mobilized to attack him. Lenny and Carl have to wear T-shirts showing their support for Ashlee, when Homer gets home Bart tells him that he has to repent and devout to Ashlee, but he thinks Bart is blowing him out of proportion but then Homer sneezes out a crow from earlier.

The next day at work after getting annoyed by glitter in him he tries to get a snack from the vending machine, the starlings return and steal all the snacks much to Homer's displeasure. Outside the power plant the Murmur Nation is spying on him, as they round up the crows and celebrate breaking him, it is revealed that Lisa is in it, and says that her "Dad has to pay for what he said about Ashlee."
