| “ | This is madness. If this walking port-a-potty is right and there is a monster down there, we can't risk our citizens' safety. I'm canceling the state fair under my authority as chief of police. | „ |
| ~ Lou attempts to cancel the state fair while the monster is still in the sewers. |
The Fatberg was a monster formed entirely from grease and fat. It only appeared in "The Last Days of Crisco" segment in "Treehouse of Horror XXXVI."
It was voiced by Chris Edgerly.
History[]
The fatberg in Springfield formed because of grease and fat accumulating in the sewers. Chief Wiggum investigated a robbery involving the theft of Grandma Slick's Pure Frying Lard, used to fry donuts, from Lard Lad Donuts. The fatberg then attacked Wiggum, dragging him down the sink into the sewers, killing him. After Wiggum's death, Lou was promoted to police chief during a press conference in this location. Following advice from Moe, he chose to cancel the state fair, citing the abundance of greasy food stalls as the reason. However, when Homer and Bart Simpson from Simpson and Son Grease arrived, they decided to proceed with the State Fair to avoid financial loss. This resulted in Lou being fired as police chief after he attempted to cancel the state fair, and Eddie was promoted to the position.
The fatberg attacked the state fair, killing everyone as they ate and draining all fat out of Bart, leading to his death. Homer realized Lou and Moe were right—the state fair's failure to listen after Lou had previously warned them about the monster lurking for grease. To stop the fatberg and get revenge for killing Bart, Homer decides to use a Texas Hat Smacker to strike the monster with an enormous hat. As the monster approached the grease, Homer unleashed Smacker to place a giant hat on the monster, but it kept rampaging, tearing Moe's body apart and hurling him aside. Homer charged at the monster with his knife, but it swallowed him. However, the monster suddenly had a heart attack due to Homer being overweight and died in the process, even though it didn't have a heart.
