Trivia[]
- This is the third time in Season 27 where Lisa is seen eating meat. The others are "Every Man's Dream" and Barthood", however, this episode and "Barthood" takes place before "Lisa the Vegetarian" (as Lisa became a vegetarian during the age of 8), and Every Man's Dream was in Homer's dream inside Marge's dream.
- When Marge says that a judge said that Homer and Bart need to get along, she might be talking about the episode "The Parent Rap". However this episode takes place two years ago so it may or may not be true.
- Maude Flanders appears in a flashback story in this episode.
- This is the second time Homer moans loudly in a restroom relieving himself. The first time was in "The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson".
- Two years before 2016 would have been in 2014.
- Homer previously referred to Lisa as "Big Maggie" in "Wild Barts Can't Be Broken".
- In the official synopsis, Bart goes with Ned instead of Homer to find supplies.
- Homer shows to Maggie real life-like toys of 8-year-old Bart and 6-year-old Lisa that says "as seen in this episode" and "collect every age".

Goofs[]
- The trail where the Simpsons and the Flanders were riding the mules is too narrow for the off-road jeeps to fit through.
- In Homer's flashback, Maude Flanders is still alive. There is one scene where he pulls out his touchscreen smartphone and says he has no bars. Maude Flanders died in the year 2000, but no one carried cell phones like the one Homer carried while Maude was alive (the most popular cell phone in 1999 was the Nokia 3310). Due to the Floating Timeline, this makes sense since she died while Bart was 10, Lisa was 8, and Maggie was 1 while the flashback took place when Bart was 7 and Lisa was 5.
