From Beer to Paternity is the seventh episode of Season 34 (was going to be the Season 34 premiere in production order).
Synopsis[]
When Homer becomes Duffman's girl-dad hero, they go on a road trip with Lisa that threatens to expose Homer's terrible parenting.
Plot[]
At the board meeting, the members watch some old Duff advertisements before viewing today's ad, which introduces a vote for the next Duff Beer mascot, including Duffman. Homer and the barflies from Moe's Tavern begin a campaign to get the people to vote for Duffman. Carl noticed that Duffman lost his election, coming place the last with "No Mascot, Just Logo." Due to Duffman's unpopularity, he tried to go to several women's bars to get advertising by spraying them with a container of beer. Unfortunately, several womans chasing after him but destroy his vehicle instead. Duffman was interviewed at the airport about losing the election and being sued by the several female lawyers. Duffman said he didn't think he was sexist because he had a daughter and saw a photo of him and young Lisa at a Duff beer event. When Marge and Lisa saw this on the television, they were shocked that Duffman was using Lisa as a prop. Marge tells Homer to go and confront Duffman about his photo.
At Duffman's house, Homer is the star, but he doesn't have much to say. Duffman closes the door, but Lisa blocks it from closing and comes in to confront him about the photo. He apologizes for Lisa's sake but admits he has a daughter but hasn't spoken to her in a while. After Homer and Duffman talk about their daughter, Homer will help get his daughter back. At P.F. Thong's, Homer invites several fathers of daughters to dinner and discuss their plans. As the group convinces Duffman, he calls and asks Amber to meet with her, which she agreed. Duffman then asks Homer to bring Lisa with him to travel to Glendon Falls to meet Amber.
Back at home, Homer wakes up Lisa and asks her to come with him and Duffman to take a road trip to Glendon Falls to see Amber. Lisa asks him why he would do so. He then goes to Marge to ask her why Lisa would want to go with him and Duffman, which she tells Homer that it's near the Agatha Christie Museum. Lisa is packing up her stuff to begin a road trip to Glendon Falls as she agreed with Homer. In the car, on the way to Glendon Falls, Duffman would like Lisa to put the music, which Lisa likes K-pop music and three of them to sing along song "Lovesick Girls." They then stop at Courtyard by Greg for breakfast and Duffman tells Homer and Lisa about his history with his daughter. After high school, Amber hated Duffman and never wanted to talk to him again, and he agreed to this. He also shows them that he saved a drawing of the two of them that she drew when was six and looks at it every day. Lisa told Duffman that Amber was still young at the time, and he should try again.
Back in the car to continue the way to Glendon Falls, Duffman receives a phone call from Brandon. Brandon talks about the Corporate Spokescharacters Fan Convention happening nearby and suggests this could be an effective way to get some more attention for Duffman. At the Corporate Spokescharacters Fan Convention, when Duffman tries to convenience to them, nobody goes to see him. Lisa realizes that the museum will be closed within 15 minutes. However, as the three of them rush, it's too late and close, and Lisa got mad at Homer for letting her down. Homer admits that he doesn't really want Lisa to go on the trip with them. Duffman fulfills that Homer is a bad father and leaves Homer and Lisa and goes with the museum employee instead. Homer and Lisa then drive back home.
While on the way back home, Lisa provides Homer a quiet treat. When he tries to talk to Lisa, she yells at him to keep his eyes on the road, and he swerves out of the way of an oncoming car. As Homer swerves out, the drawing of Duffman and Amber comes out from under the car seat that Duffman left behind. Homer and Lisa made up and decided to make a U-turn to drive back to Glendon Falls. In Glendon Falls, Duffman arrives at the apartment and he's too scared to meet with Amber again, so he joins the pool party. When Amber opened the door, Homer and Lisa showed up and she said to them that Duffman never showed up. They discover that Duffman is at the party and notice that Amber ran off from him, she doesn't think her father has changed. Duffman going after her, which the wise guy surprised causing drop and roll down a barrel of beer seeing at Duffman. A barrel is rolling down the hill towards Amber but saved by Duffman with his Chick Magnet from hitting Amber by a barrel. Amber is grateful to Duffman for saving her and she would like to invite Duffman into her apartment.
In her apartment, Amber and Duffman reconciled with Homer and Lisa's help. Homer handed the drawing to Duffman to show her, and she told her drawing hadn't been changed for a while. He also told Amber that she needed to be there for him and remember him. Duffman received a phone call from Brandon again he won the election after Lisa posted a video of Duffman singing the K-pop song "Lovesick Girls" online. However, Duffman decides to give up his winnings because he wants to spend time with his daughter. Amber opening a cannabis store called Amber's Cannabis & Cannabis Accessories, which Duffman served as Puffman. During the recording for the ad, Duffman said he has another daughter who is nothing like her, which Amber shockingly said, "Wait, your what?"
In the end, at some point later, at the Agatha Christie Museum where Homer and Lisa play, Lisa drops a tea set in shock when she discovers that the dead body.
