The transcript of Gone Fishin'.
Part #1: Adrift[]
[Homer Simpson is wearing fishing gear, holding a cooler and fishing poles.]
- HOMER: I can almost taste that trout already!
[Bart Simpson is revealed to be behind Homer. Bart is carrying a large boat.]
- BART: [tired] Ugh... Where are we...?
- HOMER: End the chatter, boy, and get the boat in the water.
- BART: [panting]
[Bart grunts and throws the boat into the water. In attempt of doing this, he accidentally gets in the boat which is drifting in the lake.]
- BART: [shouting in fear] Wh-whoa! I'm adrift! I'm adrift!
- HOMER: [gasps]
[Homer gets in the lake and swims to get to Bart. He shakes the boat.]
- BART: Boy, for a second there, I thought I was up a creek without a paddle.
[Homer growls in anger.]
- BART: Dad? Dad...
Part #2: Sandwich[]
[Homer and Bart are in the boat swimming, while Bart pedals and pants.]
- HOMER: Fetch me a bologna sandwich there, boy!
[Bart opens a cooler and sees there is no bologna sandwiches.]
- BART: Uh oh.
- HOMER: [angrily] Don't tell me you forgot to bring the bologna sandwiches!
[Bart looks through the cooler.]
- HOMER: [calmly, yet demanding] I want the bologna sandwich now.
[Bart pours a jar full of bait between two pieces of bread and gives it to Homer.]
- BART: [pretending to sound afraid] Here you go, sir.
[Homer looks at the sandwich strangely.]
- HOMER: [confused] What are you staring at? Go on, have a sandwich yourself.
- BART: I'm not hungry.
[Homer bites the bait sandwich.]
- HOMER: Mmm, good!
- BART: [sighs in relief]
Part #3: Rapid[]
[Homer looks at the bottom of an empty jar for bait confused.]
- HOMER: Could've sworn we brought more worms.
[Bart grins nervously at Homer.]
- HOMER: [shouts in fear] HEY!
- BART: What?!
- HOMER: RAPID!
[Bart turns around to see the rapid, grunting while shaking in fear. The camera shows the overhead view of the boat revealing the boat is swaying between rocks and Homer is waving his hands.]
- HOMER: Now, don't panic! Just keep calm, and we'll zip right through them!
[The front of the boat is going to hit another rock as Bart's out are out of the boat.]
- HOMER: Oh no!
[The boat hits the rock, and Homer is silently yelling carrying the jar of bait while his hat apparently flies off.]
- HOMER: Help!
[The boat continues to hit more rocks as Bart's hands are raised as if he is in a roller coaster. Bart is shouting with a large smile. Meanwhile, Homer is shivering in fear.]
- HOMER: [shivering] Rrroooccckkksss!!!
[The boat continues to slide down. Homer is still shivering, hiding behind Bart. The boat hits another rock. Homer is laying on the boat exhausted while Bart is smiling.]
- BART: [happily] That was mildly enjoyable, sir!
[Homer swiftly looks up tired, until falling down again.]
Part #4: Ditty[]
[Homer and Bart are continuing their initial trip. Homer is relaxing while Bart is pedaling the boat.]
- HOMER: Sing that little ditty you were singing before, boy. It calms my nerves.
- BART: Row, row, row your boat!
- HOMER: That's the tune!
- BART: Gently down the stream... Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily-
[The boat goes over a waterfall, staying above the air for a moment. Bart looks down and gasps. The boat falls down while Homer and Bart scream. Once the boat has gone over the waterfall, Bart continues the ditty.]
- BART: Life is but a dream...
