Habeas Tortoise is the first episode of Season 34, originally produced for Season 33.

Synopsis[]

After Homer humiliates himself in a town meeting, he looks for acceptance in an internet group hunting for a missing tortoise but finds something much more sinister.

Full Story[]

Homer is considered dumb at a library. While overcoming the sadness of being dumb at his reflection, and asking if he is dumb. Marge says Homer should go to the Springfield Zoo. He looks at a tortoise. The oldest tortoise in Springfield, Leonard, is missing! Homer asks the zoo director. He find out that maybe a dolly stole it. Marge suggests to look on Facelook. He finds a group called “Lost Leonard”. He joins. Homer makes paella for the group. Gil and Ms. Hoover start romance. The group thinks that the zoo director kidnapped him in her attic. They protest at her house. Plain, justice-loving Clancy Wiggum joins them. Gil and Ms. Hoover propose. The tortoise was found in a literal rabbit hole, but he doesn’t tell them. Homer attends Gil and Ms. Hoover’s wedding. Homer then tells the group Leonard was found, but they remain friends by solving where calamari was made. The yarn company watches over them, saying that they are in their Golden Age.
