Dangers on a Train
Treehouse of Horror XXIV

  • The episode is based on the political thriller television series, Homeland (with regular series star Mandy Patinkin).
    • FBI agent Annie Crawford, is a parody of CIA agent Carrie Mathison.
  • "Homerland" became the Season 25 premiere when "Dangers on a Train" was moved to become the Season 24 finale.
  • Homer had to listen to The Grateful Dead - "Shakedown Street" throughout his Alcohol Detox.
  • The trio sang a song called Swag, which sounded similar to the chorus of Fame, by Irene Cara.
  • When Bart takes his ADD meds he says "The sum of any two sides of an Isoleces triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side". This is what the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz said after getting a brain. Lisa says that isn't right, Bart corrects her by saying they're his lines as the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. This is similar to when Homer observes Henry Kissinger's glasses in the toilet and references the scarecrow and a fellow employee corrects him by saying it's a right triangle in "$pringfield (Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling)".
  • The picture of Moe's Grandma with the text "To Moe- What a World!" and the fact that water killed her, is a reference to the wicked witch in The Wizard of Oz.
  • The suspects on Chief Wiggum's terrorist list are: Black Doctor (Dr. Hibbert), Mexican Bee (Bumblebee Man) and Indian Clerk (Apu Nahasapeemapetilon).
  • This is the last episode in which Bart says, "I'm Bart Simpson, who the hell are you?"
  • One of Bart's Medication, Crystal Math, is a reference to the drug Crystal Meth.

  • Homer's waist size is revealed be 52. Given that he is average in height, this doesn't correspond with his canonical weight of 239 pounds.
  • Bart wrote "Need new dad, No fatties" upside down, as he flips the sign for it to face the right way.

  • This episode was rated TV-14 while it was TV-PG on Disney+.
