| ~ Hub to Seymour Skinner[src] |
Alexander "Hub" Hubley is a "background student" at Springfield Elementary School. He and Principal Skinner are the main focus of "Guess Who's Coming to Skinner" although he has a cameo in "Estranger Things."
He is voiced by Kieran Culkin.
History[]
In Hub's first appearance, he was standing outside Springfield Elementary School while Bart and Lisa were running toward their classroom when they informed their classmates that they made Itchy & Scratchy for babies.[1]
Hub later becomes a temporary son figure of Seymour Skinner. Hub was found living in the library at Springfield Elementary School. He does not actually attend the school but simply goes there to blend in the background. As later revealed, he is the son of neglectful parents who had him attend a private boarding school, but Hub did not want to stay there, so he ran away. Hub often lied about his parents and said he was an orphan: he gives many different reasons as to how they died. In addition to a lying habit, Hub can be pompous, as well as rebellious and defiant in ways almost similar to Bart. However, while under Skinner's care, he softens up a bit.
When Hub's parents find him, Skinner is sad that he has to say goodbye to Hub. Before that, Hub was about to play Farmer McGregor in a school play about Peter Rabbit (Skinner then pushed for McGregor to be the star, and this went to Hub's head). Hub then returns to the stage, going off-script to tell a story that mirrors his time with (and appreciation for) Skinner.[2]
