Note: This page regards a fictional version of a real-life person that has since passed away. Please do not denote this character as "deceased" unless it is confirmed in-universe. A dedication/tribute for a person at the end of an episode does not necessarily mean their character has passed away as well. James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr. is a former President of the United States from January 20, 1977, to January 20, 1981. He defeated incumbent President Gerald Ford in 1976 and then lost his reetlection in 1980 to Ronald Reagan.

History[]

Carter was one of the former American presidents helping out at the painting houses event where Lisa took Homer. He was there with Bill Clinton and George H. W. Bush.[1]

President Carter appears as a statue. After the statue is first revealed, the crowd calls him history's greatest monster, and riots at the bad use of taxpayers' money. Upon Marge's return they alter the statue to poorly resemble her.[2]

Behind the Laughter[]

In real life, Jimmy Carter was the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. He passed away on December 29, 2024 at the age of 100.

On February 21, 2024, the White House Historical Association unveiled the official White House ornament for Christmas 2024, based on Carter's Naval service and efforts for world peace. This marked the first time since the Association's founding that the President being honored was alive at the time of unveiling.
