Joel is a flight attendant who works at Convenience Airways.
History[]
Before taking off, Joel made jokes that annoyed Bart, who found them unfunny. When a disruptive woman started claiming something was wrong with the plane and went into a panic, Joel and another flight attendant escorted her to in-flight prison.
After Bart’s devices all ran out of battery, he began pressing the call button repeatedly. Joel reminded him that the button is only for real emergencies. Bart insisted it was an emergency: he had to report that his jokes were terrible. This causes the passengers to laugh. As Joel prepared to serve beverages and snacks, Bart hijacked the intercom to continue making jokes at Joel's expense. Joel tried to regain control of the intercom and warned the passengers not to encourage Bart. Undeterred, Bart went into the lavatory and started making flatulent noises. Things escalated, and Joel activated the trapdoor, sending Bart to in-flight prison.
After most of the disruptive passengers were sent to in-flight prison, Joel sprayed a woman with a hose to calm her down. When Bart complained about Joel’s jokes, Joel sprayed him with the hose as well.
Behind the Laughter[]
Joel was named after staff writer Joel H. Cohen; his character was based on a short story that Cohen himself wrote. [1]
