Kirk Douglas (born Issur Danielovitch; December 9, 1916 – February 5, 2020) was an American actor, producer, director, philanthropist and writer. He appeared as Chester Lampwick in the episode "The Day the Violence Died". In a long career, he appeared in numerous films. His most famous films include Champion (1949), The Glass Menagerie (1950), The Bad and the Beautiful (1952), 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954), playing Vincent van Gogh in Lust for Life (1956), Colonel Dax from Paths of Glory (1957), the title role from Spartacus (1960) and The Man from Snowy River (1982). He was considered for the role of Russ Cargill before Albert Brooks was cast.

- Kirk Douglas was one of the only two centenarians to have guest starred in The Simpsons, the other being Bob Hope, who died in 2003 at the age of 100.
