Knoxville, Tennessee is a city in American South.
History[]
In 1982, Knoxville held a World's Fair, and the Sunsphere was erected.
Fourteen years later, in 1996, Bart Simpson, Milhouse Van Houten, Martin Prince, and Nelson Muntz learned about the World's Fair. Not realizing it had closed down, they traveled to Knoxville using a fake driver's license forged by Bart for himself. They discovered the World's Fair in dilapidated ruins, and the Sunsphere was now merely used to store wigs for the Knoxville Wig Outlet. The structure fell when Nelson threw a rock at, and it inconveniently crushed the car Bart was driving. They lacked any money to buy transportation back to Springfield, and the Hocksville Tennessee Pawn shop was unwilling to give them enough cash. Thus, Bart got a job as a courier at the Knoxville Bonded Courier Service so he could transport a product back to his town.
While watching a movie in a theatre, Homer Simpson also smokes a cigar with "Knoxville World's Fair 1983" on it -- however, the World's Fair was 1982.
