Appearance[]

Personality[]
Kumiko Albertson is a sweet, soft-spoken woman who comes from a culture and lifestyle, which favors obedience over originality. This is the reason why she loves Comic Book Guy so much because unlike herself, he always gets mad, complains, and speaks his mind about things, without fear of stepping out of line and being different. Kumiko is very cultural and regularly celebrates her roots in Japan. She likes anime, manga, cosplay, and praying to the Shinto religion.
Biography[]
Kumiko Nakamura first appeared in "Married to the Blob", where she went to America to write an autobiographical manga about the saddest cities in the world, this one being Springfield. When she entered The Android's Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop, Comic Book Guy fell in love with her and asked her out on a date. During their date, Comic Book Guy yells and complains to the waiter, which Kumiko finds very attractive. She says that back in Japan, people never voiced their opinions or complained about stuff so Comic Book Guy is just what she'd been missing in life. Comic Book Guy and Kumiko plan to move in together but when Kumiko's father, Yutaka Nakamura learns from Homer about the fat nerd that she's dating, he objects to their relationship and takes Kumiko away. Homer takes Yutaka to a Japanese bar and they get drunk off of Snake Rice Wine and after an Animesque hallucinogenic adventure, Yutaka realizes he's ruining his daughter's life by refusing to let her be with the one that she loves. Yutaka lets Kumiko be with Comic Book Guy, learning to appreciate Comic Book Guy for who he is. Kumiko and Comic Book Guy get married in the Comic Book Store with Stan Lee as the priest.
In "Diggs", Kumiko and Comic Book Guy entered the falconry contest together. Comic Book Guy cosplayed as Captain Kirk and Kumiko cosplayed as an alien girl.
In "Opposites A-Frack", Kumiko attended the fracking debate at Springfield Elementary School. When Homer announced that anyone who allowed Mr. Burns to frack under their homes would get $5,000, Kumiko was among the many citizens who celebrated and got on his side. Kumiko got up on Comic Book Guy's shoulders and started happily cheering as Homer started up a huge party.
In "I Won't Be Home for Christmas", Kumiko and Comic Book Guy watched the Cosmic Wars: Holiday Special on TV. Comic Book Guy complained about how bad the movie was also Kumiko told him that he had every right to be upset about the movie.
In "Walking Big & Tall", Kumiko attended Albert's funeral.
In "Halloween of Horror", Kumiko and Comic Book Guy were in a steampunk orgy and sang in the chorus of the musical number, "NC-17 Halloween".
In "Gal of Constant Sorrow", Kumiko made a brief cameo, walking with Comic Book Guy at Springfield Squidport.
In "Simprovised", Kumiko and Comic Book Guy attended the Springfield Fringe Festival, cosplaying as medieval monarchs because they thought this was a renaissance fair.
In "Springfield Splendor", Kumiko went to couples counselling with Comic Book Guy at Springfield Community College, regarding the latter's addiction to unboxing videos. When they left the building, Kumiko noticed Lisa's mangaka, Sad Girl, lying on the steps. She decided to publish this into a real mangaka and sell it. When Lisa found out that Kumiko was selling her artwork without her permission, she was pissed and she confronted Kumiko about it. Kumiko was so ashamed, that she decided to commit the traditional Japanese method of self-punishment. She took out a knife and it appeared as though she was going to commit seppuku but she actually just used it to cut open a bag with a panda costume in it. Instead, she put the costume on and committed furry cosplay, which turned Comic Book Guy on. Lisa told Kumiko to burn all of her comic books before she realized how popular they were with fans. This got Lisa to change her mind and instead keep selling Sad Girl, but now with herself being rightfully credited as the author and Marge being rightfully credited as the illustrator.
In the couch gag for "Grampy Can Ya Hear Me", Kumiko and Comic Book Guy were some of the people who boarded the U.F.O. to flee Earth, when the world was being flooded by global warming.
In the intro of "Haw-Haw Land", Kumiko was one of the people who danced and sang on her car during the opening number, "Another Springfield Day".
In "101 Mitigations", Kumiko was with Comic Book Guy in the Springfield County Court House. She helped him up after he knelt when he completed his speech. She later served rice wine to him and Homer, when the latter came over to visit.
In "Marge the Lumberjill", Kumiko and Comic Book Guy went to the First Church of Springfield to listen to Marge make a speech about being a lumberjack.
In "Todd, Todd, Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?", Kumiko was at church again.
In "The Miseducation of Lisa Simpson", Kumiko was in the school auditorium, when Marge got up on stage and suggested they build a STEM to help give the students a better education than the current pubic schooling system.
In "Highway to Well", Kumiko was one of the women in Marge's cycling class.
In "The Way of the Dog", Kumiko and Comic Book Guy brought their pet dog, who was dressed as Superman to class.
Although she didn't appear in "Three Dreams Denied", she was still mentioned and her absence was acknowledged, when Comic Book Guy worried that he woudn't have enough money to take his wife to Comicalooza. He then noticed a note Kumiko left behind, saying that her father is incredibly sick and she'll be out of town for six weeks taking care of him. Comic Book Guy celebrated just how lucky he was to experience this lucky timing.
In "The Dad-Feelings Limited", Kumiko and Comic Book Guy spent lots of time together as a happily married couple. They ate lobster spring rolls for breakfast, had tea in silence for lunch, danced to jazz music in the park, watched Miyazaki movie marathon with more lobster spring rolls for dinner, and made out a lot during these times. That night, they went to Moe's Tavern to play trivia night and they met with Homer and Marge, who joined their team. With the combined knowledge of the two couples, they ended up winning the game and getting a small trophy. They celebrated their victory at Ramen Coma for dessert. Homer and Comic Book Guy started eating their ramen all sloppily and making a huge mess. Marge took out some rain ponchos for herself and Kumiko. Kumiko asked Marge to teach her some more life hacks for dealing with a fat husband. Marge invited Kumiko over to her house to show her the tricks and trades of having a fat spouse. During this time, Maggie woke up and started crying so Marge asked Kumiko if she could take care of Maggie, while she warmed her up a bottle of milk. Kumiko was nervous when entering Maggie's room as she had no idea how to take care of babies. However, Kumiko lulled Maggie to happiness with a lovely Japanese song. When she realized how well she was with children, she immediately wanted a baby, herself and asked Comic Book Guy to impregnate her, while she cosplayed as Greta the Gremlin from Gremlins 2. Unfortunately, Comic Book Guy resisted the urge to have sex with her because he didn't want a baby. This created a conflict in their marriage.
Kumiko invited Homer and Marge down to the park with her and Comic Book Guy and pretended it was a coincidence. Homer and Marge left to go have sex in a mausoleum, while Bart and Lisa annoyed Comic Book Guy. Comic Book Guy and Kumiko were watching a screening of Forward to the Past and Comic Book Guy forced Bart and Lisa to put their phones down and watch the movie, which they reluctantly did. When Bart and Lisa ended up giving positive reviews to the 80's classic, it brought a tear to Comic Book Guy's eye and made him decide he did want kids after all. However, later that night, Homer and Marge got locked in the mausoleum and Bart and Lisa got scared when they didn't know where to find them. Assuming their parents were dead and zombified, Bart and Lisa cried into Comic Book Guy's belly and sought his comfort. Unfortunately, Comic Book Guy was not prepared to provide emotional support to the sad kids and he ran off to avoid responsibility, pissing Kumiko off. At the Simpson house, Kumiko lashed out at Homer and Marge for introducing her to the life of a mother, only to take it away from her like this, so they knew they had to find Comic Book Guy and convince him to have a kid again. At the end of the episode, Comic Book Guy returned to Kumiko, a changed man. He cosplayed as Mr. Beaver from The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and he and Kumiko danced romantically together before supposedly making sweet love. Despite the ending, there would never be any canon mentions of Comic Book Guy and Kumiko Albertson's child in any future episodes.
In "Do PizzaBots Dream of Electric Guitars?", Kumiko protested the premiere of the Agents of P.I.Z.Z.A. movie at the Aztec Theater with a bunch of other nostalgic 90's nerds. She held up a sign that said "Some of Us Are Women".
In "A Made Maggie", Ned Flanders had a business where he baptized babies and gave out restaurant pagers to his clients. Comic Book Guy and Kumiko were one of the couples who were part of the business but they were upset when they found out this was for a Christian baptism, which went against their faiths. Kumiko was a Shinto and Comic Book Guy worshipped the Klingon religion of Ba-a-a-a.
In "You Won't Believe What This Episode is About - Act Three Will Shock You!", Kumiko and Comic Book Guy were seen at the Dog Park with two dogs. Notably, neither of these dogs were the same dog they had in "The Way of the Dog".
In "Meat Is Murder", she appeared in the establishing shot of Krusty Fest.
In "Poorhouse Rock", she appeared in the final musical number, "Goodbye, Middle Class".
In "Murder, She Boat", Comic and Kumiko Book Guy went on a cruise on the Pacific Princess Leia as the nerd prom king and queen, respectively. When Comic Book Guy's Radioactive Man toy got decapitated, Kumiko shared his sadness by playing loud annoying music on her guqin and loudly sang her obnoxious Japanese singing. Bart was blamed for the murder of his doll so Lisa and Taika Waititi had to find the true killer. They interrogated Kumiko and she stated that she'd never hurt the dolly of her beloved husband. Lisa showed footage of her making a throat-slitting gesture at the doll and Kumiko broke down, admitting that she did hate that doll because of how it was upstaging her as Comic Book Guy's most prized possession. She overshared that every time she and Comic Book Guy made love, he called out the serial number of that damn doll. This made her one of the potential suspects.
Kumiko later screamed in terror when Comic Book Guy went missing, so Lisa and Taika Waititi had to dig deeper to get to the bottom of this case. Since Kumiko was so on-edge about losing her husband, she got annoyed with Taiki making jokes and yelled into his face. They later found out that Taika was the killer and Comic Book Guy was hiding in the gym because he was sad about all the insults that were thrown his way. At the end of the episode, Comic Book Guy looked through the holographic footage of Kumiko crying over him paying more attention to the doll than herself, so he knew he had to get rid of it. He dumped the limited edition misprinted Radioactive Man doll into the water and Kumiko called him the "Best husband ever." and then she kissed him romantically.
In "The Tell-Tale Pants", Kumiko and Comic Book Guy were celebrities who went to the 35th Annual Springy Awards but this turned out to just be Marge's dream.
Non-Canon Appearances[]
Future[]

The Simpsons Series Finale[]
In the season 36 premiere, "Bart's Birthday", Kumiko went into labor with her baby from "The Dad-Feelings Limited" but there was no doctor to help her deliver her baby. Fortunately, John Cena just so happened to be visiting Springfield to help Otto launch his brand of THC energy drinks, Bong-Ster. After some work from John Cena and an umbilical cord cutting with a Klingon Bat'leth, the baby was officially born, much to the joy of Kumiko and Comic Book Guy. The happy family left the comic book shop and Comic Book Guy stated that he no longer needs to collect toys anymore because now he has the perfect limited-edition collectible right here. Kumiko and her newfound family were later present at Bart's 11th birthday.
Treehouse of Horror series[]
In "Treehouse of Horror XXVI", Kumiko was one of the Japanese citizens whose town was being terrorized by Homerzilla during the segment, "Homerzilla". She made fun of Abe Simpson II for dropping donuts in the ocean with poorly-dubbed laughter.
In "Treehouse of Horror XXXII", Kumiko made an appearance in the Paradise parody, where she was one of the citizens who escaped to the bunkers during the apocalypse. A fight broke out and Comic Book Guy held down Jasper Beardsley, while she went wailing on him,
