Cultural References[]

  • Psuedo-nonymous is a reference to the hacker Anonymous.
  • The World According to Baby Jeff Goldblum is a parody of the actual Disney+/National Geographic series The World According to Jeff Goldblum.
  • At the start of the Yar, They Blow segment, the old "Castle Thunder" sound effect as originally heard in the 1931 movie Frankenstein is heard as lightning strikes. It gets used again in the "Treehouse of Horror XXXIV" segment "Ei8ht", "Clan of the Cave Mom" and "The Flandshees of Innersimpson".

Trivia[]

  • This episode was originally called "Love, Hacktually". It was presumably renamed to create a misleading effect.
  • This is the last episode where Alf Clausen composes music for the show.
  • Several fan theories are referenced throughout this episode:
    • In one clip, an adult Bart travels back to the first Christmas show and reveals all the things to his past family that will happen in the future. This is a reference to the ongoing string of "predictions" the show has made, such as Lady Gaga's Super Bowl performance and Donald Trump beating Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Presidential Election and becoming President.
      • Past Lisa's shocked reaction at the prediction of Donald Trump being President is quite unrealistic because Donald Trump was quite adored by liberals, the mainstream media, and Hollywood alike. It was not until his 2016 presidential campaign where opinions became more divided.
    • It also references the prediction of the outcome of the 2014 World Cup; and, most oddly, Milhouse's 2010 prediction that Bengt Holmström would win the 2016 Nobel Prize in Economics.
    • Another claims Martin is actually an adult named Reggie.
    • In one clip, it is "revealed" that Ralph Wiggum is actually Eddie's son, a nod to the resemblance between the characters.
    • In one clip, Homer wakes up from his coma two days (thirty-two years in real lifetime) after jumping Springfield Gorge and reveals that the past 710 episodes were a dream. This is a reference to another dark fan theory, although the original fan theory involved Homer's coma in "So It's Come to This: A Simpsons Clip Show".
  • Running Gag: Characters saying, "The lies stop now!", throwing a glass at something, and making a ridiculous revelation. For example, Selma reveals on her deathbed that she is Marge's mother, and, before she passes away, hints that Disco Stu is Marge's father.
