When The Simpsons Opening Sequence was reanimated for its conversion to high definition in 2009, initially, during the screen showing the title, only one gag was used: a three-eyed crow would fly by it. Starting with Season 7 (and permanently with mid-Season 20), the gag became a changing opening sequence gag for each episode just like the billboard gags, the chalkboard gags, and the couch gags. There is also a title screen gag for the movie.
However, prior to the high definition change of the show in 2009, there were a few title screen gags in a few earlier pre-HD episodes of the show, mostly subtitles that are shown at the bottom of the screen.

10 | "The Simpsons" trademarked logo (seen on lots of promos and merchandise for the series) is seen in white with red borders, while the words "138th Episode Spectacular!" is gold with red borders and is in a font similar to the end credits font.
Both words stay still after zooming in, are superimposed over a different shot of the clouds (which resembles those seen in then-contemporary commercials for the show), and the camera fades to the rest of the intro after a couple of seconds. |

11 | Underneath the show's title card are the following subtitles: "300th EPISODE" (in the Season 7-present end credits font).
This is actually an editing goof, because "Barting Over", the episode that used this gag, is actually the 302nd episode, but was mistakenly advertised as the 300th. The 300th episode is "The Strong Arms of the Ma", which could've used this title screen gag. |

12 | Underneath the show's title card are the following subtitles: "301st EPISODE" (in the Season 7-present end credits font).
This is actually an editing goof, because "I'm Spelling as Fast as I Can", the episode that used this gag, is actually the 303rd episode, but is mistaken here as the 301st. The 301st episode is "Pray Anything", which could've used this title screen gag. |
