- This short was featured on the opening screen in Futurama episode Fry and the Slurm Factory, although, the Opening Screen in Futurama normally uses old cartoons from the public domain.
- This short appears to reuse scenes from "Burp Contest".
- This short marks the 1st time ever that a piece of Simpsons media has the production code number different and/or separate from it's airing number. For the case of this short, this is overall the 8th 1 released and aired, but it is actually instead the
9th
1 overall to be made. - Homer does not appear in this short. He is one of the faces that Bart makes and he appears on a framed picture on the wall where he holds a red pitchfork.
- Maggie talks three times in the short.
- There is a SpongeBob episode which has a similar plot called "Face Freeze!".
- Concept art for this episode was included in the Simpsons Season 1.
- This is the only time, in which Homer does not appear in this short.
- Marge telling the kids their faces will freeze if they make silly faces is a story most parents tell their children.
- Maggie's blabber sounds something like "Ha he ha!"
- The scene where Marge comes through the door with a face can be seen in the FOX commercial from 1990, along with a scene from Life on the Fast Lane.
