The mechanic is an employee at Gasso who fixed broken cars. When Homer Simpson was having heart issues, he mistakenly thought that the thumping his heart was making was his car. The mechanic corrected him, and attempted to explain it to Billy by comparing his potential death to a car that they couldn't fix.
