The unnamed mother of Mona Simpson and maternal grandmother of Homer Simpson.
History
She was alive at the time Mona married Abe Simpson and might be the woman in a purple dress wearing a wide brimmed hat in the flashback of Mona and Abe 's wedding day in "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?".
Homer is trying to emphasize with Todd Flanders over not having a mother and remembers being a little boy in his bed overhearing another fight between his parents. Abe yelled, "Good God, woman, why did you marry me?" and Mona yelled back, "To piss off my mother, and it worked! Tell the kid I love him, but I'm as bad at goodbyes as I am at picking husbands."
