The Mountain Ranger is an employee at Mt. Useful. When Homer Simpson and Charles Montgomery Burns went missing during a business excursion, he led the search the find the two men. The ranger expressed doubt about his ability to complete the task, even asking the rest of the search party to wear "corpse-handling gloves". However, he attempted to instill a degree of hope in Bart and Lisa Simpson.
He also manages successfully to locate Bart and Lisa as well as Waylon Smithers, Jr. when they were previously missing.
