Mr. McIntyre was a school guidance counselor at Springfield High School when Homer and Marge Simpson attended the school.
History
Homer once visited him to ask for help in his love problems with Marge. He advised Homer to find similar hobbies with Marge. He then told him about new nuclear power plant where attending of university wasn't needed, so Homer should get a job there. However, Homer just laughed and threw a leaflet about the plant away.
The counselor later asked Homer to sign an application, but when Homer noticed a dog with a ham standing outside, he ran away to get it. The counselor then threw Homer's application away.
