Mrs. Carlson is the (ex) wife of Carl Carlson. In "Secrets of a Successful Marriage", she and Carl were attending Homer's marriage class. In "Sunday, Cruddy Sunday", Carl mentions he will give a ring to her for their anniversary. In "Specs and the City", Carl says that she is having an affair with one of the VP's at power plant to feed Carl inside information.

It is possible that she has divorced or separated from Carl, as she has not been seen with him again and Carl has also been seen dating Lenny's sister and other women. However, infidelity is also possible.
