My Octopus and a Teacher is the eighteenth episode of Season 33, being the 724th episode overall. It originally aired on April 24, 2022. The episode was written by Carolyn Omine and directed by Rob Oliver. It features guest stars Kerry Washington as Rayshelle Peyton.

Bart can't control his feelings when he gets a new teacher. Meanwhile, Lisa befriends an octopus.

In the start of the episode, after Lisa received a C grade, she joined Future Nature Documentations and started recording the documentary. Lisa goes underwater and befriends an octopus, Molly. Marge interrupts Lisa's recording because of a shark. She resumed her recording, but interrupted again and Marge took a photo.
At the school, in the office, Rayshelle Peyton has an interview with Skinner and her resume is impressive. She about goes to the other schools, but Skinner and Gary Chalmers welcome her to become a teacher. As Skinner and Ms. Peyton leaves the office; Bart encounters her again after she saved him from drowning in his flashback. He hides from her behind the lockers. Nelson and Milhouse (except Bart) meet a new teacher. However, Bart then starts acting weird.
In Aztec Theater, Future Nature Documentations film festival start playing and shows Lisa's documentary about a shark catching an octopus. Molly tried to defend herself, but it wasn't enough, and a shark eventually bit her and resulting Lisa in tears. As the documentary ends, everyone cheers. Back home, and Lisa returns to room, she watches her documentary where Lisa saves Molly from attacking shark.
The next morning, Ms. Peyton prepares herself, enters the teacher's lounge, and introduces herself to other teachers. There's an upcoming assembly project, the Seven Wonders of the World, and they're accepted. In the classroom, the kids are doing a self-portrait assignment, and she goes through Martin, Nelson, and then Bart. He is drawing himself and too much glue on it. When he tries to explain it, he puts a glued paper into his face and cannot see and starts acting weird again which he stumbles around room and hitting it. Outside, Nelson and Milhouse explain to Bart why he's acting weird around her. He then shouted at both of him. Nelson and Milhouse walk away from Bart.
Back home, Lisa was about to brush her teeth, Molly opened the jar by herself and entered the tube though the sink. Lisa then chases after her, which Molly goes into a box of cereals. Bart is doing his homework and has a vision of an angelic Ms. Peyton as having fun of him. The next morning, she has an assignment to take their homework out and goes Milhouse first. Bart reacts to his similar work and destroys it. He then threw it out of the window and caused the kids to move their desk away from Bart due to out-of-control behavior. Back home again, Lisa put Molly into the fish tank and locked it, but she disappeared. She goes after her again. Later that day, Ms. Peyton discusses Homer and Marge why Bart is unable to control in the class, and she tried her every intervention.
Peyton meet Bart for the first time, but he shouted at her.
At Bart's room where he is redoing his homework after destroying it, Homer discusses Bart that he has a crush on her. He then revealed that he had met a new teacher. In his flashback, while Lisa was doing her documentary, Bart found that a rich kid left a sand bucket from Paradiso del Mare. He goes to the hotel's pool, and he jumps with a belly flop which he failed to swim. Rayshelle sees Bart is drowning and she then dives in to save him from drowning. She saved Bart, but however, instead of being grateful, he got embarrassed and said: “Why did you do that? I was fine. I'm an amazing swimmer.” He then ran off from her. Back home, he feels awful and thinks she is going to hate him. Homer to be honest and advise him.
In the kitchen, Molly keeps messing around and it's not safe in the house and Lisa takes her to school. The next day, Bart feels safe without any more weirdness, but he got mad as her husband enters the closet and kisses it and destroys a water fountain. In the gym, Seven Wonders of the World presentation day arrived. Bart tells Homer that he was right, and Bart has a crush on her. Lisa was about to take Molly home after school. The assembly started. However, Bart cannot take any longer of this. He then took her jar and tried screams causing Molly to be free from it. Molly jumped into his face, and he switched to bleachers to retreats causing everyone to fall. The balls start throwing into people and destroying all projects. Lisa pulls Molly out of his face and puts it back into a jar, but the damage is done, and the assembly ends abruptly. Ms. Peyton was about to give up, but Skinner suggested switching to another class. Other teachers do not because Bart did.
The next day, Bart enters the class and apologizes to Ms. Peyton for ruining it. He has one more thing to tell the truth and put water into his head and wear swimming goggles. She was shocked that he was “angry drowning boy” while she was in the hotel. He then asks to want to pack her up, but she decided to stay and continue teaching. He tells her about his old teacher to always control of him, but he realized that it's too late for him. At the end of the episode, he writes on the blackboard.
In the beach, as the closing credits rolled in, Lisa frees Molly out of the jar. She left Lisa behind, but a shark again and she threw it in the air to save her from her fate. Database took a photo which Lisa annoys him.
