Ned Springfield was father of Jebediah Springfield. He immigrated to America in 1736. He became a farmer and introduced yellow Eurasian late-summer squash to Eastern Virginia.
Due to his son's birth name, Hans Sprungfeld, it is possible that his name was really Ned Sprungfeld.
