North Korea (Korean: 북한), officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (Korean: 조선민주주의인민공화국), is a country in East Asia. Its current leader is Kim Jong-un, the son of the late Kim Jong-il, and the youngest leader to run North Korea.

Its government started out with a form of Stalinist Communism, based off of Marxism which was originally a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs. North Korea experienced an ideological reform and abandoned communism for it's own created ideology known as Juche along with eugenics, later on all mentions and traces of communism were removed from it and it's constituion though it still claims to be Socialist. It has a bitter rivalry with the United States of America, due to different ideals of their government.

History[]

During Sideshow Bob's flashback, he was seen trying to determine which country he should start his life over in. He decided to grab a globe, spin it, and stab a knife on it. Which ever country the knife landed on, Bob would go and live there. One of the countries the knife landed on is North Korea, to which Bob exclaimed "Damn it!" and spun the globe again, not wanting to live there.[1]

While working at the Department of Motor Vehicles, Wayne Slater angrily recounts to Sideshow Mel the time he was captured and held in North Korea. He was forced to write a musical play about Kim Jong-il, the country's leader.[2]
