Oh, My Papa is a song that Krusty and Rabbi Hyman Krustofsky sing together during his reunion and reconciliation with him in the episode "Like Father, Like Clown", accompanied by instrumentals courtesy of Krusty and the Krums. The song was originally written by Swiss composer Paul Burkhard and was adapted into English by Geoffrey Parsons and John Turner. In the German lyrics, the father is a former clown and tightrope walker ("Oh my papa was a wonderful clown. / Oh my papa was a great artist").
The song is the forty-fourth track on the album Go Simpsonic with The Simpsons.
Lyrics[]
Oh, my Pa-pa, to me he was so wonderful
Oh, my Pa-pa, to me he was so good
No one could be so gentle and so lovable
Oh, my Pa-pa, he always understood
Gone are the days when he could take me on his knee
And with a smile he'd change my tears to laughter
Oh, my Pa-pa, so funny, so adorable
Always the clown, so funny in his ways
Oh, my Pa-pa, to me he was so wonderful
Deep in my heart I miss him so today
Gone are the days when he could take me on his knee
And with a smile he'd change my tears to laughter
Oh, my Pa-pa, to me he was so wonderful
Deep in my heart I miss him so today
Oh, my Pa-pa
Oh, my Pa-pa
