- The title comes from the song "P.S. I Love You" by The Beatles.
- Dollar Troll is a parody of Dollar Tree. Some of the items for sale:
- Hawaiian Paunch (a knock-off of Hawaiian Punch fruit juice and a paunch is another word for a protruding belly)
- Government Cheese-It (a combo of Cheez-It and government cheese) with Uncle Sam shrugging his shoulders on the box.
- Circle-Os (knock-off of Cheerios)
- Crustee-Os (a knock-off of Frosted Krusty-O's) with a sad faced Krusty-lookalike clown on the box.
- Scoff Toilet Tissue (a knock-off of Scott) with the tag "Now with a half ply!" while lowest standard for toilet paper would be 1-ply or singly ply.
- Bottled hose water.
- Loose Tylenol.
- Brainy Paper Towels (a knock-off of Burly Paper Towels which itself is a parody of Brawny Paper Towel)

- The exterior has signs for "4 Quarters $1" "Chicken Fat $2/lb" "Malk 99¢ per/gal" and "Rotten Bananas $1.99" on the windows.
- Tim Meadows left Saturday Night Live in 2000 after 10 seasons, which at the time was the longest tenure of any cast member (and the first time an African-American cast member stayed on the show for longer than five years). One of Meadows' hateful letters is addressed to Lorne Michaels who runs Saturday Night Live.
- Teenage Marge has a copy of the magazine Teen Ladies Home Journal which is a reference to real magazine Ladies Home Journal and the trend at the time of "teen" version of magazines such as Teen Vogue or Teen People.
- Shauna's collection of "goth romance novel" is a pun on "gothic romance novel". Some of the titles are:
