Paul Leonard Newman (January 26, 1925 - September 26, 2008) was an actor and humanitarian. His most well-known credit was in the film Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He was also known the voice actor of Doctor Hudson in Disney/Pixar's Cars franchise and as the founder of Newman's Own, which produced such products as salad dressings and popcorn. He made a guest appearance in The Simpsons episode "The Blunder Years" as himself.

Nine days after he passed away, the episode "Lost Verizon" was dedicated in Newman's memory.
