Planet Hype (alternatively known as Planet Springfield) is an over-hyped, overly trendy movie-themed restaurant located at the Springfield Squidport. Rainier Wolfcastle is a principal investor in the establishment, and is a frequent patron.
The restaurant specializes in breakfast-cereal-encrusted meats, such as the Krusty-O Chicken. Hollywood memorabilia also decorates the restaurant, including the cane from Citizen Kane and the script for Jim Carrey vehicle The Cable Guy, which restaurant patron Homer tore apart in anger over the poorly-received 1996 dark comedy "nearly ruining" Carrey's career.[1]
The pink Cadillac lodged in the side of the building appears to be decorative, however on grand opening night Hans Moleman was trapped in the driver's seat pleading for help.
Non-canon appearances[]
In The Simpsons Road Rage, it is located in the Entertainment District. In The Simpsons: Hit and Run and The Simpsons: Tapped Out, it is located in the Springfield Squidport. In The Simpsons Game, it is located next to The Android's Dungeon and the Barney's Bowlarama right in the town square.
The Cadillac on the side of the building is a hidden vehicle in The Simpsons: Hit and Run and can be driven by Bart in Level 6.
