Cultural references


  • The Springfield International Airport sign proclaims "Built for the Olympics we didn't get," a reference to "The Old Man and the "C" Student."
  • The plane appears to be a Boeing 737-200 (note the cigar shaped engines that the 200 series have) which is an older model built from the late 1960s to the 1980s. Most major airlines have retired this model.
  • Bart says that he is uploading the video to YouTube, but Milhouse is seen watching it on MyTube. It's possible that someone may have reuploaded it to MyTube.
  • At the end of the episode, Homer's new Gut Check with Homer Simpson logo is Angry Dad.
  • This is the second episode where Homer gets a new job after starring in a viral video. The first was "Homer and Ned's Hail Mary Pass".
  • In French, the expression "au jus" means that the meat is served in its own juice, therefore without gravy.
  • This is the first episode to air in 2012.
