Prince Rogers Nelson, simply known as Prince was an american singer, musician, songwriter and actor. He appeared during the Treehouse of Horror XIX segment "How to Get Ahead in Dead-Vertising" and almost guest starred in a canceled episode.
History[]
During Treehouse of Horror XIX, Prince was one of the celebrities killed by Homer so he could be used for free in commercials. Homer choked, stabbed and beat him with his own guitar. He's later seen on a grass seed advertising.
"The Prince Episode"[]
Prince was going to appear on a sequel to the episode Stark Raving Dad, however, he was going to voice Leon Kompowsky, who now would think he's Prince. His producers even contacted the writers to settle the episode's details, but the writers soon found out that there were two completely different scripts. Eventually, the idea for such episode was scrapped.
Trivia[]
Prince was a native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, where Simpsons co-producer James L. Brooks' first big television success The Mary Tyler Moore Show was set. Ironically, his 1989 music video for Partyman featured a female saxophone player the year before Lisa Simpson started playing the saxophone on a regular basis in the opening credits for The Simpsons.
