Pulpit Friction is the eighteenth episode of season 24 that aired on April 28th, 2013. It featured Edward Norton, who played, as Al Jean said, "The most lovable minister in the world. He is more popular than Reverend Lovejoy, if you can believe it, and Lovejoy is really upset and becomes a hot tub salesman. It comes down to a battle between the two of them...and there's a surprise ending." Edward Norton had previously played a character in the episode, "The Great Money Caper." The title is a reference to the 1994 film Pulp Fiction, which was referenced in several episodes.
