The Puppet Show couch gag is the seventeenth and final couch gag of Season 21.
Plot[]
Homer and Bart appear as hand puppets while doing a puppet show. Within moments, the puppets begin attacking each other. The view pans down, and Homer is strangling Bart due to the cruel puppet show they were doing.
Trivia[]
The puppet show, and its descent into physical slapstick violence (especially the part where Bart beats Homer with a stick) is a reference to Punch and Judy, which frequently incorporated those sorts of gags.
