Quilloughby is the lead singer of the band Quilloughby and The Snuffs, and was Lisa's imaginary friend.
He is a reference to the 1980s pop icon Morrissey, as well as 'a small dash of Robert Smith from The Cure, Ian Curtis from Joy Division, and a bunch of other people, according to episode writer Tim Long.
