Radioactive Man Re-Rises is a reboot of the Radioactive Man franchise.
Appearance[]
Lenny and Carl were discussing the film at work. After Homer kept hearing spoilers, he decided to go and watch the film but got kicked out. He then illegally downloaded it with Bart's help.[1]
Plot[]
As Lenny described it, the film "undoes the stuff from the last one, so it's a deboot". In the new film, Radioactive Man has a new suit which not only keeps him alive but is also slowly killing him. He has to erase his own memory so he's not haunted by his past when he's born in the future.
He also has to kill his own anti-matter twin with a blast of time particles from the chrono-cube. This mortally wounds his girlfriend, who was pregnant with his own grandfather. He also gets a new villain, The Collider, who turns out to be a good guy and dies, but comes back to life after the credits.[1]
Behind the Laughter[]
- The fact that the suit that keeps Radioactive Man alive is slowly killing him references the arc reactor problem Tony Stark had in Marvel's Iron Man 2.
- The movie title is a reference to The Dark Knight Rises.
- As Re-Rises reboots what is described in season 25's "Steal This Episode" as "the last one", it can be inferred that a Radioactive Man film was produced prior to Re-Rises but after the unfinished Rainier Wolfcastle film from the season 7 episode "Radioactive Man".
