Ritchie Valens (b. Richard Steven Valenzuela) (May 13, 1941 - February 3, 1959) is a deceased man buried at the Springfield Cemetery. He was a famous rock 'n' roll musician in the 1950s, best known for hit songs La Bamba, Donna and Come On Let's Go. History[]
After finding Edgar Neubauer's grave, Bart and Lisa learned that Mayor Sideshow Bob had stuffed his ballot with "votes" cast from deceased people and animals buried at the Springfield Cemetery and Springfield Pet Cemetery, respectively, among them Ritchie Valens.
The tombstone, however, has Valens' birth year and given name incorrect. While he was 17 when he died, he was actually born in 1941 and his given name was actually spelled as "Ritchie".
