Rock-A-Bye Baby

Rock-A-Bye Baby is a nursery rhyme, sung by Marge Simpson in The Tracey Ullman Show short, "Good Night". She sung it to Maggie Simpson, when putting her to sleep and it has become the first musical number in The Simpsons series.

In the Season 28 episode, "Looking for Mr. Goodbart", The Simpsons opened with a celebration of their 30 year anniversary of being on television, by showing a brief clip of the first ever Simpsons short before the episode, containing the scene with Marge singing this song to Maggie, helping her go to sleep.

Lyrics

Rock-A-Bye Baby
In the treetop.
When the wind blows
the cradle will rock.
When the bough breaks
the cradle will fall
and down will come baby,
cradle, and all.
