The SNPP security guard was an employee of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant in 1980. He supposedly monitored the entrance of the plant for unauthorized personnel, but he clearly did not take his job too seriously. He watched television during his shift and did not notice Homer Simpson walking past him.
