Season 10 |
|
The tenth season of The Simpsons first aired on August 23, 1998 with its first episode, "Lard of the Dance" and ended May 16, 1999 with its final episode, "Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo". Notably, this is the only season of The Simpsons to premiere in the month of August.
The Simpsons Complete Season Ten boxset was released: Like the last four, there were two editions, one with the normal box, and this time, a Bart shaped clamshell boxset. It is also the last time there is a Simpson head box. This is the last season with Phil Hartman, as both Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure, as well as the last season to feature David S. Cohen before he left to work on Futurama. For these reasons and others, season ten is generally considered the transition season marking the end of the show's Golden Era and the beginning of its decline.
