The Simpsons Season 12 first aired on November 1, 2000 with its first episode, "Treehouse of Horror XI" and ended on May 20, 2001 with it's final episode, "Simpsons Tall Tales".

The Simpsons Complete Season Twelve boxset was released:

• Region 2- September 28, 2009
• Region 4- September 2, 2009

Some Season 12 DVD box sets featured a limited edition Collector's box with a 3D Comic Book Guy face on the front.

Trivia

• Like Season 11, every non-THOH episode in this season uses the full-length opening sequence.
• This is the first season since season 8 to have a treehouse of horror episode open the season.
• Only three couch gags from this season returned in season 13 while eleven were never used again.
• Only seven reused couch gags first seen in season 11.
• This season's production code is CABFxx. while the four episode are holdover episodes from the season 11 and they got the BABFxx production code.
• Starting with this season until the rest of the 12 in season 20, some of the episodes are no longer pal-pitched in some countries with the exceptions of some parts of the UK and France.
  • This is one of those seasons where all the episodes are normal pitched in other countries, meaning some parts of the UK and France will help the episodes get the pal-pitch effect.
• This is the first season to have a full televised run in the 2000s.
