Season 14 |
|
The Simpsons Season 14 first aired on November 3, 2002 with its first episode, "Treehouse of Horror XIII" and ended on May 18, 2003 with "Moe Baby Blues" (though "Bart of War" aired on the same night, similar to how season seven ended with "Homerpalooza" and "Summer of 4 ft. 2").
Season 14 was the first to use digital ink-and-paint, though four episodes held over from season 13 ("How I Spent My Strummer Vacation", "Bart vs. Lisa vs. the Third Grade", "Large Marge" and "Helter Shelter") were done in traditional ink and paint style. "Treehouse of Horror XIII" is a gray area. While the episode is a season 13 holdover, it was animated with digital ink and paint as a test run. There's also the question of which episode is the last episode to use traditional ink and paint animation. While "Helter Shelter" is the last broadcast episode to be animated that way, "How I Spent My Strummer Vacation" is considered the final traditional ink and paint animated episode in production code order.
This season is also home to the 300th episode, "Barting Over," though, going by production code order, the 300th episode is "The Strong Arms of the Ma".
The Simpsons Complete Season 14 was released on DVD on the following dates:
- Region 1- December 6, 2011
- Region 2- September 19, 2011
- Region 4- November 2, 2011
Kang appears on the DVD box set cover. Some Season 14 DVD box sets came in limited-edition collector's boxes with a 3D Kang on the front cover.
