Simpsons Wiki:Non-Canon

	This page is an official policy on the Simpsons Wiki. It has wide acceptance among editors and is considered a standard that everyone should follow. Except for minor edits, please make use of the discussion page to propose changes to this policy.

The Simpsons feature many episodes which are not considered to be official in The Simpsons timeline, and as such the information is regarded as non-canon. Any article about a character, place or object which only appears in these episodes, or sections in an article about these events, should have the {{Noncanon}} template added to it ({{Noncanon Episode}} if it's an episode). Below is a list of episodes, games and comics considered non-canon.

Separate canons

These significant changes in the show are necessary to progress and transition to subsequent episodes. For instance, Maude Flanders was killed in the Season 11 episode "Alone Again, Natura-Diddily." Ned Flanders entered a relationship with Edna Krabappel in Season 22 episode "The Ned-liest Catch," and Comic Book Guy married Kumiko Nakamura in Season 25 episode "Married to the Blob." These changes are definitive and will be incorporated into the official canon of The Simpsons moving forward.
