Simpsons Wiki is a fan website on Fandom (formerly Wikia) and content relating to The Simpsons. The wiki was founded by Postbagboy on September 24, 2005, and later adopted by M Johnson on December 30, 2005. Simpsons Wiki is a wiki, which allows anyone to edit pages.
History
Simpsons Wiki was founded on September 24, 2005, by Postbagboy, but they have never created any pages yet until December 30, 2005, when M. Johnson initiated the project with the creation of the first page, Homer.
October 15, 2011, RRabbit42 became an administrator and then bureaucrat role by TheShadowCrow on December 27, 2011.
On May 11, 2024, TheWarriorBeast890 was promoted as an administrator due to their frequent and prompt edits, as well as their effectiveness in addressing vandalism, following a suggestion by JonathanFrink. Two months later, LetsPlayNintendoITA has been promoted to administrator role as continued helping out since early 2019 as moderator.
Around February 2025, TheWarriorBeast890 began styling this wiki to resemble screenshot and background color to reduce gap.
On May 2, 2025, Simpsons Wiki became an affiliated partner of Bob's Burgers Wiki which was added by Arriabella who is currently as administrator role.
Incidents
In October 2010, Sannse removed Solar Dragon from bureaucrat role due to intentional and extensive vandalism regarding new Wikia skins and the attempted insertion of prohibited forked domains and shorter links to promote a new wiki, which violated the forking policy and Terms of Use. Smiley12 has been demoted by Joeyaa as well due to abusive behavior. Subsequently, due to ongoing abuse on this wiki, local administrators, RansomTime (a former VSTF), VegaDark (as VSTF role, now SOAP), and staff have blocked numerous accounts, including IP addresses, which were solely used for vandalism, in order to prevent further instances of vandalism and other malicious activities. After RRabbit42 became an administrator, they began blocking all of accounts solely used for vandalism, which caused significant damage to this community and spread anti-Wikia statements. Eventually, following the incident between September 2010 and November 2011, staff removed blacklisted domains to allow them to use another wiki outside of Wikia, which is used by users who copy content from other sites.
In February 2023, shortly after the announcement that Jimmy Carter had entered hospice care, suspected global vandalism-only account predicting Carter's death, causing disruption across wikis, continued creating more accounts with the same behavior until the end of year 2024 after the passing of Carter.
