The employees at the Power Plant all want 5 cent per hour wages but Mr. Burns think it's 5 percent increase and decides to punish them by plunging the city into darkness. It affects the town as Kent Brockman does the news in everyone's house, Patty and Selma use their cigarettes to light up the house and Apu has to mark expired things as jerky. Burns realizes this is a mistake and decides to clone Smithers and make sure that the plant is a happy and efficient one.
However, the clones do too good of a job and push around Burns and the real Smithers. Meanwhile, they hatch a plan for Homer to disguise himself as Burns to get the Smithereses back in line but Homer ruins the disguise with his donut eating. Thankfully, the clones are stopped and forced into a Broadway play.
