South Africa is a country in Africa, which has a population of 55,900,000 people and is bordered to the north by Zimbabwe, Namibia and Botswana, and Mozambique and Swaziland to the east and north-east. The country completely surrounds the Kingdom of Eswatini and has eleven official languages; more than any other country except Zimbabwe. The current President is Cyril Ramaphosa, who has governed since 15 February 2018 and is the fifth president from the ruling African National Congress party (ANC) to have served since the transition to fully enfranchised multi-racial democracy in April 1994.
