Springfield Anthem is a song heard during the end credits of The Simpsons Movie. It was originally to be in the actual movie some point during when the bomb was counting down. The music is the French national anthem, La Marseillaise, composed by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle. The parody lyrics were written by James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Al Jean, Ian Maxtone-Graham, George Meyer, David Mirkin, Mike Reiss, Mike Scully, Matt Selman, John Swartzwelder and Jon Vitti.

Another was in the comic Growing Pains. Lisa, Bart, Milhouse, and Terri sing it. It goes loke this- "Oh, Springfield, oh Springfield, with your remaining greenery. Oh Springfield, oh Springfield, we love your adequate scenery. We love your air, though it is gray. We try to breathe it, anyway. Oh Springfield, oh Springfield, our dying town we love!" There is a new anthem for Springfield called Why Springfield, Why Not

Lyrics[]

Barney:
Springfield doesn't have an anthem.
We thought we had one,
But we don't.
Barney, Lindsey, Arnie, and Clancy:
We paid a short guy to write it,
Barney, Lindsey, Arnie, Clancy, Lisa, Krusty, and Apu:
But we never saw him again.
Everybody:
The tune we stole from the French.
There's a few things they do well.
Like making love, wine, and cheese
Like Roquefort, Camembert and Bries.
Springfield,
We're going to die,
Springfield,
I'm scared, goodbye.
