The Springfield Birdwatching Society is a group of people who are interested in observing and protecting birds in Springfield. The group hold their meetings at the Springfield Municipal Building, inside which they have their name on the door of an office space.
Known members[]
Skinner is shown leading the meeting of the group, which is attended by Edna Krabappel, Julius Hibbert, Jasper Beardsley, Moe Szyslak, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon as well as Mr Burns and Waylon Smithers.
At one meeting, Skinner clears up confusion among members about the group's bird sighting rules, reminding them they can't count bird sightings "at the zoo, on stamps or in dreams".
History[]
Bart and Marge take the lizards that Bart hatched to one of the group's meetings for advice.
The group's leader, Seymour Skinner, explains to Bart and Marge that the reptiles are Bolivian tree lizards, a breed that steals a bird's eggs and leaves their own to be watched after by the mother bird, which is then eaten by the offspring once they hatch. They also tell them that the lizards are a threat to the bird population and must be killed by law.
However, Bart manages to escape with the lizards and releases them into the wild, where they rapidly multiply and devastate Springfield's pigeon population.
