When Homer was running into a pasture, he heard the music from the shower scene in the movie Psycho. He had been scared till the bus with the Springfield Philharmonic, playing the music, arrived and one of the members went out and walked away.
Later, the Springfield Philharmonic had to practice in a gym along with the basketball team. Marge then wrote to Frank Gehry and asked to build a concert hall form Springfield. He agreed and built the Springfield Concert Hall. However, due to Springfieldians' general disinterest in opera, it was eventually turned into the Montgomery Burns State Prison.
