Starbucks is a popular chain of coffee shops. When Bart Simpson visited the Springfield Mall, he walked by two separate Starbucks branches within the mall as well as a shop that would soon be converted into a Starbucks. When he entered In 'N' Out Ear Piercing, Raphael let him know that it too would soon become a Starbucks. By the time Bart left this change had already occured, and he had bought a drink from the latter Starbucks. By this point, every shop in the mall had also become a Starbucks.

Starbucks is a real world coffee shop chain. It is known for having a very large amount of locations, many of them close by each other, and most of which were built fairly quickly from the 1990s onwards. This trend is parodied on The Simpsons.
