Krabappel vs. Flanders

Before this page is moved any more, I think we need to wait until Edna's full name is said in an episode. Though Ned is a very traditional person who would have wanted his wife to take his last name at the time they are married, Edna is not a traditional person. She could have kept her last name of Krabappel. —RRabbit42 (leave a message) 06:41, January 25, 2013 (UTC)

Agreed. UnSub-Zero (talk) 23:27, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
Ok, but even though she married Ned, she was Ms. Krabappel for at least 20 seasons. And there is this tibit. I don't why, but for some reason, the status quos of the series were re-establish around season 15. Homer met Marge in high school, Apu is now married with octuplets and cheated on his wife, Luann is dating almost every man a Kirk is a divorced deadbeat dad, Gil is a failure, Maggie shot Mr. Burns, Patty is lesbian, Lisa is a vegetarian Buddhist, Maude is dead, Skinner is still Armin Tamzarian, but no one is allowed to talk about it, Barney was sober, but drunk again and reduced in screentime, and now Snowball II dead, Selma adopted Ling, Skinner and Edna broke up, and Edna is now married to Ned. :( Those are just some examples.--Kid Sonic (talk) 18:45, January 26, 2013 (UTC)
The blackboard gag showed her as "Mrs. K.", so we know she did not change her name to Flanders. Why does this page still list her as Krabappel-Flanders rather than Krabappel? There are twenty years worth of shows with her as Krabappel, absolutely no evidence for a hyphenated name. SwedishStarFish (talk) 18:41, November 5, 2013 (UTC)
Adding a link to the People article that shows that she remained Mrs. K. SwedishStarFish (talk) 18:46, November 5, 2013 (UTC)

Edna

Hey what's the big idea? Why did you take me edit about Mrs. Krabappel's butt? And why has not one answered my question that I left on the Bart the Lover talk page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.148.231.235 (talk) 23:44, March 24, 2013‎

Because it was more of a personal comment and did not show how to make the page better. Also, we're not required to answer each message, but in this case I will. —RRabbit42 (leave a message) 14:06, March 25, 2013 (UTC)

Goodbye Mrs. Krabappel

Man im gotta miss this charather :( i loved watching simpsons episodes with edna moments since i was little

there should be a Simpsons episode made called "Bart gets a new teacher" (due to wallace's death it should mention in a simpsons episode she moved out of springfield)

How'd the heck did she die? I mean, I know her actress is dead, but how could they kill her off?Pof203 (talk) 03:31, March 13, 2015 (UTC)

I notice Edna Krabappel's status is still "Alive", should this not be altered to "Dead" as the actress playing Edna has now died and Edna will not be in the show any more.

RIP Marcia Wallace.

All we know is that the character is to be "retired". That doesn't necessarily mean that she'll be killed off.
If she is killed off in a future episode, that is when her status will be changed.

R.I.P Marcia Wallace. Al Jean has said that the character will be retired. Very sad to hear this. Corporal Genesis DXTR (talk) 19:20, October 28, 2013 (UTC)

Following that original logic, if the Wiki was around when Doris Grau died, would that automatically have made Lunch Lady Doris a dead character? In any event, the Show's creators have officially stated that she is not going to be killed off but will be retired. Who knows, maybe in 8 years the voice will be recast, such as with Lunch Lady Doris RobbieNewton1 (talk) 16:11, November 4, 2013 (UTC)
:Old discussion, but the creator (the show only has 1 creator, maybe you meant to say producer) and the producers NEVER stated that she wasn't dead. They said they would retire her charater, but never made any mention about whether she was gonna be killed off or not. And a few months later you would be proved wrong when a March 2014 episode confirmed her death. TJ Spyke (talk) 05:34, September 28, 2015 (UTC)

R.I.P. Marcia Wallace. I'd like to see Edna killed in exactly the same way Maude Flanders was killed. Odd that neither Al nor Matt asked for my opinion.  BearOfNH (talk) 03:28, February 9, 2014 (UTC)

Standard procedure for TV shows is to not accept or even hear suggestions from outside sources to avoid lawsuits over where an idea came from. In a famous example from Babylon 5, an episode had to be shelved because it was similar to a story idea a fan posted. After the creator of the show announced this (he was one of the first showrunners to directly interact with fans online), that person took the unusual step of getting a document notarized saying that he released all rights to that idea. It took about a year to get the episode back up and running for broadcast.
Besides, a TV show like The Simpsons should be able to come up with a different way to address what will happen with Edna instead of repeating something they've already done. —RRabbit42 (leave a message) 05:02, February 9, 2014 (UTC)

Who would replace Marcia Wallace as the voice of Edna Krabappel

That could be Tress MacNeille, they need to take over Marcia Wallace's part to voice the character since Marcia Wallace died in 2013.

  • The end of the episode "The Man Who Grew Too Much" (aired in March 2014) indicated that her character died, so no need to find a new voice actress. Even if she hadn't died, after Wallace's death showrunner Al Jean announced that they would retire her character. So Mrs. Krabappel won't be used again (except when using clips from past episodes). Moved to California and became an actress?

If you look up online at Answers.com via the following link, tell me and I'll chat with you for that!

Why is krabappel template thing gone and messy?70.69.72.201 18:57, April 9, 2016 (UTC)

This is getting ridiculous and annoying

I'm getting sick of people constantly changing Edna's status to unknown, deceased, alive, possible deceased, retired. She's dead. A ghost of her was shown in monty burns fleeing circus. We don't see her in crowd scenes anymore, and Ned really missed her. I wish a user would explain why she isn't dead if that person were to change her status, instead of just changing the page without reason.70.68.228.244 16:00, November 6, 2016 (UTC)
